Al Rawabi Croissants – A prefect breakfast treat
Do you know the origins of croissants? Croissants are named after their distinctive crescent shape. They’ve been around for millennia. The contemporary version of this delicious pastry dates back to 19th century Paris, although the Croissant has a much longer history. When we hear the word croissant, we immediately think of the French. In actuality, though, Austria is the “birthplace” of this famous pastry.
Al Rawabi Croissants come in four different flavors, including zaatar, strawberry, chocolate, and plain. Some people like sweet fillings like chocolate or strawberry, while others prefer plain croissants with additional fillings with ham and cheese. The croissant may have had a slow and steady journey to fame, but it is now one of the bakery’s simplest, most tasty, most well-loved treats.
Here are some interesting simple recipes to enjoy the Al Rawabi Classic Plain croissants
Croissants French Toast
For an even more luxurious French toast, use Al Rawabi Plain croissants instead of bread.
Cut the A Rawabi Plain croissants in half down the center. In a mixing bowl, combine the half-and-half, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and eggs. Dip each croissant half into the mixture until well covered. Place the pieces on a platter.
Melt a tiny amount of butter in a large nonstick skillet over low heat. Add as many AL Rawabi Plain croissant halves as will fit, cut-side down, then slightly increase the heat (nothing over medium low). Allow the pieces to cook for 3 to 4 minutes on the first side. To prevent them from burning, move them around in the skillet. When the bottoms are a deep golden brown, flip them over and cook for another 2 minutes or so, and your delicious French toast is done.
Serve with fresh cut fruits, maple syrup and a dollop of whipped cream.
Apple Tuna Salad Croissants
Apples add a delightful crunch to the tuna and help to mask its fishy flavor.
Simply add tuna, mayonnaise, apples, and apple cider in a mixing bowl and gently fold together with a spoon, being careful not to mush the apples.
In a separate bowl add a small dab of balsamic vinegar with kale (you need less than what you think you need). Massage the kale for a few minutes with your hands, then squeeze off any extra liquid. Set aside.
Toast the AL Rawabi Plain croissant halves until they are warm. Fill with tuna salad and kale. Serve right away.
Enjoy these unique and delicious recipes with Al Rawabi Croissants and have hearty and wholesome breakfast!
